These solar studs use solar energy to power embedded LED lights. By increasing the driver response time, the addition of embedded LED lights to each solar road stud provides these reflectors with significant advantages over traditional studs. Since the reaction time is mainly based on vision, in contrast to the 3.2 reaction time from conventional road studs, solar road stud light can enable the driver to reach a reaction time of 30 seconds. A drive with ten times the visibility can reduce the accident rate by up to 70%.
